Meet the Participants
Anwar is a local Palestinian-American tatreez artist and instructor who began her journey in 2022. Anwar uses the traditional art of Palestinian embroidery as a powerful way to honor and connect with her roots. Self-taught and deeply connected to her heritage, Anwar is committed to preserving this cultural tradition by keeping Palestinian embroidery alive and offering workshops within the community.

On Saturday, November 15th, PlayCo invites you to take part in a Palestinian embroidery workshop led by Anwar (@threads.of.tatreez)! This unique hands-on beginner's workshop will focus on the fundamentals of tatreez and its history and importance to the Palestinian people. Participants will then be guided through basic stitching techniques and motifs.
